3. A Moment in Time

Words and Music by Judi Jaeger © 2015

Borrowed a dime for a phone call home.
I borrowed your coat when I felt all alone.
I borrowed your coat when I wrote you a poem of love.
And, when the moon hadn’t shown yet we reached for a moment in time.

Dreaming of blue standing at your door.
Wondering when you’ll hold me more.
Dreaming of blue and color of your eyes at night.
Dreaming of blue as you took my hand.

Heart beating as you pulled me close to dance.
The innocent wind blew us round and around.
And, the moonlight had grown as we reached for a moment in time.
Life was gentle back then

Love was like breathing out and back in
You said it well, you said it well, to live and love and find It was only a moment.
You kissed me so soft then you said goodbye.
You kissed my heart and you kissed my eyes.
You kissed me and whispered you would not lie to me.

I kissed the moon and I kissed the wind.
Crossed the paths where we had been.
I kissed away love and the feel of your skin on mine.
The moonlight was gone and so was a moment in time.
The moonlight was gone and so was a moment in time.
The moonlight was gone and so was a moment in time.

Song Notes: When I was a teenager, I had a boyfriend at camp in Nova Scotia. At the end of the summer, he gave me a card and a pair of heart-shaped jade earrings and said “don’t keep my letters”. That was it. I don’t know what ever happened to him. Many years later, I wrote this song.
